Kitchener Camp WWII
The English Quartermaster, Mr. Coopersmith, on the left, checking over the list of supplies in the stores which is shown to him by the refugee in charge. Some of the supplies are bought whilst others are given to the Camp. The average cost of feeding a man for the day is 8d. A typical day's menu included porridge, jam, bread, butter and tea for breakfast, boiled beef, cabbage, potatoes, mixed pickes, rich pudding for dinner and lentil soup, minced cheese or egg, coffee or cocoa for supper with tea and biscuit breaks twice a day
