La Boisselle 1916
The attack on the village of La Boisselle, on the first day of fighting of the Somme campaign. The Tyneside Irish Brigade, part of the 34th Division, advance following up the initial attack made by the 101st and 102nd Brigades. Like many other Battalions on this day, the Tyneside Irish suffered heavy casualties
