Mata Hari, dancer, courtesan and possible spy
Mata Hari (stage name of Margaretha Geertruida Grietje Zelle, 1876-1917), Dutch exotic dancer and courtesan. She was accused of being a spy for Germany, and was executed by firing squad in France. Seen here performing the Prayer to Lord Siva, expressing coquetry and anger, seduction and fury, love and hate. She appears almost naked, but seems to be wearing a flesh coloured body stocking
