Pozieres 1916
Pozieres, a small village situated on high ground of strategic importance during the Battle of the Somme. Between 23rd July and 5th August, Australians of Anzac Corps were involved in bitter fighting for the village and surrounding area, success coming at the expense of high numbers of casualties
