Prince Louis Alexander of Battenberg (later Mountbatten) 1st Marquess of Milford Haven (1854 - 1921), German-born prince and British admiral, appointed First Sea Lord in 1912 but forced to retire from the post in 1914 due to anti-German sentiment at the start of World War One.
