At the Tarnopol headquarters of the German army, Kaiser Wilhelm II (centre of picture) is kept up to date with the progress of the German advance in East Galicia. To the rear of the picture can be seen the bearded figure of Prince Leopold of Bavaria, who ultimately became commander of the German forces on the Eastern Front
