USAAF C-47 Dakota at Airstrip on Plain of Imphal

WW2 - Burma. At an airstrip on the Plain of Imphal in March 1944, newly-arrived reinforcements from 15 Corps in the Arakan await their move to their battle positions. The nearer C-47 Dakota is from the USAAF, the further from the RAF. The red centre has been removed from its roundels to avoid confusion with the red sun with which all Japanes aircraft were marked
