View of the wreck of HMS Vindictive, an Arrogant-class protected cruiser, after the Second Ostend Raid (10 May 1918), during the First World War. After damage in the first raid, she had been sunk as a blockship as part of an unsuccessful second attack. The two raids gave the ship celebrity, and her bow section has been preserved in Ostend harbour as a lasting memorial
