View across Manchester racecourse toward Kersal
A part of Manchester which has almost vanished today, the view across the loop of the River Irwell containing the track of Manchester Racecourse (closed in 1963) and across to the high rise Kersal Flats built in the 1930s of which only four now survive, redeveloped as luxury flats. The area of the racecourse is now used as Sports fields. Photograph by Shirley Baker
