Scouts during Wartime
Scouts collect salvage. Boy Scouts and Sea Scouts have undertaken a great variety of voluntary jobs since 1939. One of the most important has been the collection of salvage of all kinds. Besides helping the special drives for aluminium, steel, rubber, they have regularly collected material that has either been turned directly into munitions, or has been refurbished to save shipping space.
