Abdul-Aziz Ibn Saud (centre) with two British business representatives in front of a tent somewhere in his domain, the greatest part of the Arabian Peninsula. Ibn Saud, who cooperated with the British during WW1, as a reward in 1921 was recognised as Sultan of Nejd, and in 1926 proclaimed himself King of Nejd. To his dominion was given the name Saudi Arabia, making Bin Saud the founder of that country. He was also called Abdul-Aziz III Ibn Saud of Saudi Arabia
