Adolf Hitler and followers in Compiegne, 1918
Adolf Hitler and the colonels of the Army, Navy and Air Force in the forest of Compiegne on the place where the Compiegne wagon stood in 1918. The next day, OKW chief Keitel was to dictate the terms of the armistice to the French government on behalf of Hitler in the historic forest of Compiegene in the wagon in which the surrender of the German Empire was signed in 1918. The wagon had been transported here from a museum for this special purpose
