: Adolf Hitler and Franz von Papen, 1934

Adolf Hitler and Franz von Papen, 1934

At the time of the Rohm putsch in June 1934, this picture was created. During this time, Von Papen criticized the NSDAP's and SA's actions as rude. The Marburg Speech, written in this context by his associates Edgar Jung and Erich Klausener, was atoned for with their lives during the Rohm Putsch, while von Papen, who was placed under house arrest, survived and later continued to work for Hitler in a different capacity. The picture shows an excited von Papen, an uncomprehending Hitler and an angry Goebbels and Hitler's aide-de-camp, Wilhelm Bruckner
