In the Hamburg harbor at the shipyard of von Blohm and Voss, the KdF (Strength Through Joy) ship Wilhelm Gustloff is launched in the presence of Adolf Hitler. Gustloff was the murdered leader of the Swiss arm of the Nazi Party and the ship was christened Wilhelm Gustloff by his widow. The photo shows Adolf Hitler leaving the shipyard accompanied by the SS Reich Leader Heinrich Himmler (left of Hitler) and Rudolf Blohm (right)
