Adolf Hitler invited members of Infantry Regiment 19 to Berchtesgaden on August 24, 1939. Shortly thereafter, Hitler took off his brown party uniform to wear a gray tunic from then on. Since Hitler meticulously planned the way he would be perceived by the public by wearing certain outfits, this can be interpreted as a personal attempt to present himself as a military man and soldier
