: Albert Einstein in Great Britain

Albert Einstein in Great Britain

German physicist, Albert Einstein (1879-1955), hides out at the summer house of Commander Oliver Locker Lampson (left) in Cromer, Norfolk after escaping from Nazi Germany via Belgium. Secretary, B. Howard looks over his shoulder at some notes. Lampson was particularly worried for his guest's safety and he engaged armed bodyguards of which one can be seen in the background. Einstein emigrated to the US a few weeks later
