Alfred Dreyfus, 1906
The French officer Alfred Dreyfus after the presentation of the Cross of the Legion of Honor. Behind him stands Major Targe. Dreyfus was convicted for treason to life imprisonment in 1894, he was pardoned in 1899 and in 1906 was fully rehabilitated. The award was a restitution to the officer, whose career was ruined through the so-called Dreyfus Affair
