The altar with the Black Madonna in the Chapel of Grace in Altoetting. The early Gothic image of the standing Madonna with the child is about 70 cm high, it was carved from lindenwood in Burgundy or the Upper Rhine and was taken to Altoetting in 1330. About 150 years later, in 1489, after two healing miracles it became a pilgrim destination and an image with miraculous powers
