Ascent of the first Zeppelin airship LZ 1, 1900

In the evening hours of 02/07/1900, took place the first test trip of a German airship of the type Zeppelin ('LZ 1') above the Bodensee. The airship was 128 feet long and had a gas filling of 11, 300 cubic meters, it was equipped with two 14.2 hp Daimler engines. This first start with five people and 350 kg of ballast on board, opened the great age of German airship flight
