Attack against Czar Alexander II, 1881
The Tsar who was born in 1818, who ascended the throne in 1855, was considered a reformer due to the repeal of the peasant serfdom in 1861 which was decreed by him. After the failed bombings in 1866 and 1880, Alexander II fall victim to the bombing of the anarchist action group People's Will on 13 March 1881. The contemporary illustration shows the moment of the explosion in the Small Garden Street in St. Petersburg
