The great Italian agricultural workers organization held a mass meeting at the Teatro Adriano in Rome on Saturday, December 18, 1937, in which the aims of the Italian self-sufficiency effort with regard to food were made known. The picture shows the stage of the theatre, filled with functionaries, during the meeting. At the bottom of the stage is a programmatic slogan: Gli Italiani devono vivere intensamente nella mistica dell'autarchia
