Aviation pioneers next to a homemade flying machine, 190
Standing next to homemade flying machine are (from left) Ernst Wolf, Adolf Thormann and Bruno Demke. At this time, Demke was a professional racing cyclist and Wolf and Thormann were his pacemakers, who usually rode motorcycles to keep Demke in a steady pace during long-distance races. All three were also passionate aviators. Bruno Demke died in an airplane crash in 1916. Date created: 01.01.1908-31.12.1908
