The balloon Adler of the expedition team of Salomon Andree
The Swedish engineer and Arctic explorer Salomon Andree started off in 1897 with Fraenkel and Strindberg in the free balloon Adler from Spitsbergen to fly over the North Pole for the first time. The participants of the expedition remained lost until in 1930 in the north east of the Spitsbergen remains were found, including diaries and photographs. After a drawing by Hans Wieland
