Because of the cession of West Prussia to Poland after WWI, East Prussia was cut off from its connection by land to the Reich, which had a negative effect on its economic development. Many companies went bankrupt, like this porcelain shop having a closing sale. In this situation the anti-Polish and nationalist slogans of the Nazi Party fell on the fertile soil of the border dwellers
