This work, presented at the Allgemeine Unabhaengiges Ausstellung ('General Independent Exhibition') in the festival hall of the Potsdam airship port work shows World War veterans reinforced by Stahlhelm members who enter the Kyffhaeuser where, instead of an imperial crown, they put a steel helmet on Barbarossa's head. Barbarossa's house dwarf handed him a sword for the upcoming fight
