The Baroque town hall in Deidesheim, 1943

The community hall of Deidesheim from 1532 houses the Museum of Wine Culture and, with its staircase, forms the backdrop for the yearly Geissbockversteigerung (goat auction). The Deidesheimer Geissbockversteigerung takes place on the Tuesday after Pentecost in the Weinstrasse, publicly on the market square. According to tradition, the mayor of Lambrecht hands the animal to the youngest couple of the village, who then bring the goat to the auction
