The British passenger ship Empress of Britain was attacked and severely damaged by a German Focke Wulf Fw 200 on October 28, 1940 northwest of the Aran Islands on the west coast of Ireland. The sequence of photos shows the attack with several 250kg bombs by the German long-range reconnaissance aircraft
