BDM girls harvest cabbage, 1934
BDM girls harvest cabbage in the Landjahrheim Schluft in Schorfheide. The girls belong to the first generation of BDM girls, (not in picture) who were required to complete, at the behest of the Reich Minister of Education Rust, one year of Landdienst (country service) in Prussia. In 1934 according to the organizers 22 000 young people participated in the Landjahr in Prussia, this number should have been increased to 60 000 in 1935
