During the Berlin March fights government-loyal Freikorps units were firing with artillery on hideouts of the insurgent workers. Here, the Alte Schuetzenstrasse, which was built-over later, north of Alexanderplatz, after such an attack. Many homes were badly damaged and residents were mortally injured
