Blasting of the Armor-Plated Vessel Admiral Graf Spee, 193

During the first months of World War II, the armor-plated vessel Admiral Graf Spee was used for the trade war on the Atlantic ocean. After the Admiral Graf Spee had lost a battle with British cruisers, the crew sank their own ship at the mouth of the La Plata river. The commanders of naval warfare had ordered that no ship was to fall in the hands of the English enemy. The picture shows the Admiral Graf Spee being blown up in the harbor of Montevideo in December 1939
