The Blitzen-Benz of 1909 at the IAA, 1926
The Benz 200 PS, called Blitzen-Benz or Lightning Benz, from 1909 was the fastest pre-war car with a speed of 228 km/h. Here it is on display at the Allgemeine Deutsche Automobil-Ausstellung (now IAA - International Motor Show Germany), in Berlin on the Kaiserdamm in 1926. The aerodynamic rear section has been removed to reveal the tank. Inside the car is the hand pump for the fuel, which had to be operated by the passenger
