Block of houses in the street Unter den Linden in Berlin

The picture shows the block of houses at Unter den Linden 59a - 63, corner Neustaedtische Kirchstrasse, in Berlin in 1935 before its demolition. The buildings had to make way for the construction site for the tunnel of the North-South S-Bahn, which was led further north from the Unter den Linden station (today: Brandenburg Gate). The photo shows numerous stores including a ladies hairdresser, the publishing house W. Girardet and the store Duerninger Zigarren Herrnhut
