Border stone at Gross-Nebrau, 1939
This stone on the Vistula, opposite the town of Neuchatel, symbolized the new Polish-German border. It ran right at the foot of the Weichseldeich, the valuable pastures were on the Polish side, so the German peasants were dependent on their Polish comrades
