The Bremen in New York, 1939

The fast steamer Bremen leaves the port of New York City. The ship was ordered back to Germany by the shipping company Norddeutscher Lloyd shortly before the war began. At the request of the British government, American security agencies investigated the Bremen for 36 hours before she left the country
