The American President Calvin Coolidge with school children who have taken part in a national spelling bee. The winner of the bee is the 11-year old Frank Neuhauser (4th from right) from Louisville (Kentucky). He received the gold medal and 500 dollars. The second place went to Eva Stover (3rd from left), also 11 years old, from Trenton (New Jersey). She won 250 dollars. Third place was 12 year-old Helen Fisher (2nd from left) from Akron (Ohio). Fourth place went to the 13 year-old Mary Daniel (2nd from right) from Hartford (Connecticut). Also on the photo are the best from several States: Dorothy Karrick (left) from Detroit (Michigan), Patrick Kelly (4th from left) from New Haven (Connecticut), Louis Mackey (5th from right) from Oklahoma, Almeda Pennington (3rd from right) from Haughtson (Texas) and Mary Coddins (right) from South Bend (Indiana). In total around 2 million school children took part in the spelling bee
