: Caricature of the outcome of the Reichstag

Caricature of the outcome of the Reichstag

The election on the 4th of May brought a great increase in votes to the right- and left-wing enemies of the Republic, while the bourgeois forces were lost. In this drawing, President Friedrich Ebert is portrayed as a centaur, who is maltreated by a Communist and a National Socialist with a pistol, a saber, a dagger, and a torch. Eberts, who is buzzed around by swastikas and red stars, says: What kind of guys did they put on my back
