Carillon from the City Hall tower in Gdansk, 1923
This photograph shows the carillon of the town hall tower in Gdansk, which was built in the 16th century. The Town Hall of Gdansk was built between 1379 and 1492. During the Second World War, the building burned down completely and was renovated subsequently. Today it houses the Historical Museum. Famous is the Red Hall, which was designed by architects Hans Vredemann de Vries, Izaak van de Blocke and Simon Herle. In the background is the Church of St. Mary
