Carnival procession in Munich, around 1900

The photograph from around 1900 shows participants of the Munich carnival procession, in which men from the service industry are presented as the real Olympic winners of that time. They have an old bicycle (still without rubber tyres) with them and carry a sign with the inscription Olympic winners of today'. In the background on the left is the Theatinerkirche. The participants are standing on Ludwigstrasse in front of the buildings at Ludwigstr. 3-11
