Celebration of deck officers on a German warship, 1914
A birthday party of deck officers of the German High Seas Fleet in the officers mess, where crew ratings are assigned. Among the traditional naval officers the class differences were especially emphasized. This led to a lot of resentment on board and from here started the first refusals to obey orders, which resulted in the sailor's mutiny in 1918
