Charles Yeager, around 1950
Charles E. Chuck Yeager (born on 13.03.1923) gained worldwide fame as the first man to fly faster than sound. The legendary flight in the Bell X-1 took place at the Muroc Dry Air Field (now Edwards Air Force Base) in California on 14.10.1947
