The Chocolate Girl, around 1744
Pastel painting in Rococo style by Jean Etienne Liotard showing a chocolatier who serves hot cocoa in precious porcelain. Here Liotard foreshadows the realism of the 19th century. The painting gained international reception in the 18th century and has been used in folk art and advertising since the 19th century. Today the original hangs in the Old Masters Picture Gallery in Dresden
