The church of the village of Maddalena in Jabal Cyrenaica, 12 kilometers from Barqah. Here 69 families were settled with Italian colonists. The Italian colonial period in Libya lasted from 1912 to 1943, during the fascism Italian farmers were settled in Tripolitania and the indigenous population was expelled or imprisoned
