The Columbushaus, 1932
The commercial building Columbushaus at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. The architect of the building was Erich Mendelsohn. In 1932 a shop was leased to the American department store Woolworth. The office and shopping building was the first in the country to have an artificial ventilation system. In the wake of the popular uprising on 17 June 1953, the building was burnt down
