Conference of the VDA at Rhein & Mosel, 1934
At the end of the VDA's Whitsun conference, which was held in Mainz and Trier, a four-hour procession is held through the streets of Trier on the second holiday. The parade was opened by about 10, 000 Saarlanders. Here in the picture the Saarvereine in the Simeonstrasse, in the background the Porta Nigra. The banners bore the inscriptions Schwoert und sprecht, Recht bleibt Recht, Wahr bleibt wahr, Deutsch die Saar ('Swear and speak, Law remains law, Truth remains truth, German is the Saar') and Helft die deutsche Saar befreien.
