Construction of an irrigation canal in Italy, 1930

Hundreds of workers build an irrigation canal for agriculture in the Emilia-Romagna region between Modena and Ferrara in May 1930. The construction workers carry away the excavated material with wheelbarrows via ramps. The construction sites were one of the measures taken by the fascist regime in Italy to combat unemployment during the Great Depression
