Crash of a Parseval airship in Grunewald, 1908
A non-rigid blimp of the type Parseval is stranded in the Grunewald forest on a site in the Trabenerstrasse. Unlike the Zeppelin type in which a rigid framework ensured the external shape stability, in this Parseval the airship envelope was ensured by the overpressure of the buoyant gas. After the first successful ascent on 26.05.1906 August Franz Max von Parseval built in Bitterfeld a total of 23 rigid airships
