Crowds on the Berlin Wall

Crowds congregate on the wall near the Reichstag in Berlin watched by East German Border guards in the restricted zone. After 28 years of isolation the German Democratic Republic opened its borders in Berlin and the remaining federal territory. By 12 November more than a million people had flowed through the crossing points out of East Berlin
