Dagobert I
The Frankish King Dagobert I holds a hearing in Burgundy (628) to control in the excesses of the Great. Dagobert was the last Merovingian who held the royal scepter in a firm hand. It was not long afterwards that the house Maier gained greater power. (Engraving from Paris around 1780)
