All right-wing parties and organizations, including the NSDAP mobilized since 1929 a wave of protests against the payment plan of the American economist Owen Young for the remaining reparations, and demanded a referendum against the adoption of the Young Plan, an international treaty to regulate the German reparations. On various placards it reads: Destroy the diabolic Young Plan and Out to the referendum
