The destroyed Nantes, 1943
During an Allied air raid in mid-September 1943, the western French city of Nantes was badly hit. The picture shows a truck with young men arriving in Nantes to clear away the rubble. Almost 1000 houses were destroyed in the attacks. In the background are destroyed house facades
